- Adedayo Akinwale

The presidential aspirant on the platform of Sustainable National Party (SNP), Ahmed Buhari has lamented that the major political parties in the country have made it difficult for youths to contest in the 2019 elections.

Buhari told journalists in Abuja that he left the People’s Democratic Party ( (PDP) because the party did not support youthful aspirants contesting for any political position ahead of the 2019 elections.

According to him, “I went into the PDP on the 30th of June 2018, as the first individual to declare to run under the PDP, but unfortunately, the PDP didn’t pay attention to us, because we were young or don’t have the kind of resources they want from individuas .”

Continuing he added that, “There is no hope for the youths because a major party like the All Progressives Congress (APC) has pegged it’s nomination form at N45 million. “How many youths can afford that?” He asked

On the issue of insecurity, Buhari opined that Nigeria would never progress without proper data management.

He called on Nigerians to look beyond ethnicity, religion, social status, political parties, ideological affiliations, gender and even age bracket for a successful country.

Also, the National Publicity Secretary, SNP, Kingsely Nwagu urged the youths to remain resolute and diligent in their aspiration to be elected into political positions at various levels of government.
