THE ENTREPRENEUR’S BEST FRIEND

3 Things StoppingYou from Reaching Your Full Potential as An Entrepreneur

-

As an entrepreneur, you are faced with twofold over challenge running a business and deepening your expertise in your field as a service provider. You could be the world’s most incredible project manager, but if you can’t close sales or keep up with invoicing, your business suffers.

We all have big dreams, dreams of financial success and we all want to make it 100% real. We jot down those action checklists, schedule our time and go towards what we want but sometimes the results are mixed. Revenue is always fluctuating and you keep hitting the revenue that you cannot break through. You have heard severally that your personal mindset is key and you tried thinking positively and that is not working for you either. If you want to know how to create great success and abundance in your business, there are things to avoid.

Not having a mentor The most important reason why many talented people never get their business off the ground is a lack of a good mentor. Beginners surround themselves with other people who are struggling to launch their own business or friends who are not really motivated to change their life.

A mentor isn’t going to magically change your business but she brings experience and guidance so that you can short-cut your path to success. A good mentor should be someone who has personally reached similar financial goals that you would like to reach. Just being in her presence instinctively sends you a message that you can really make this happen for yourself too.

You are pushing away potential revenue each month that you are not reaching your goals trying to figure things out on your own. You cannot afford to not have a mentor it is the best return on investment you will ever make in your business.

The customer is always right I hate this saying because not only is the customer not always right, sometimes they are not the right customers for our businesses. The challenge is that it’s not easy to walk away from the revenue, even when we have a low profit and high maintenance customer. But we need to look at all of our customers and identify how they are performing in terms of profit and maintenance. We should be looking to gradually replace customers who are high maintenance but low profit. These types of customer are a drain on our resources and reduce our ability to best serve our highly profitable customers.

When we recognize these as the lies that they are, it allows us to become accountable and take ownership. This will then empower us to take necessary corrective action and improve the situation which will help us on our way to achieving long-term success and reaching our full potential.

Perfectionism, Fear and Worry. For entrepreneurs, practice doesn’t make perfect, an action does. You simply cannot wait until you are 100 per cent ready before you take action.

Entrepreneurs’ resolve is tested from the very first step in starting a business. In fact, one of my lecturers at my university compared starting a business to jumping off a cliff and assembling your parachute on the way down. While it is that scary, if you succumb to your fear and never take the plunge, you have zero chance of succeeding.

As an entrepreneur, worry comes with the territory. In fact, over a third of entrepreneurs, I have had conversations with told me they worried a lot about yesterday. While worry is a quotidian experience, it is not productive. You have to make peace with the things that concern you, and not let them stop you from taking action and pursuing your dreams.

To achieve success as an entrepreneur, you must embrace action and let go of perfectionism, fear and worry. You have the power to transform your future by giving up on these three biggest impediments to reaching your goals.
