Governor of Sokoto State and presidential aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Aminu Tambuwal has said that what the country desperately need now is a rescue, a restructuring and a repositioning, as well as a leader who has the wherewithal to do the needful.

This is coming as a former governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State and now a chieftain of PDP, Mr. Kenneth Imansuangbon, has called on well-meaning Nigerians to rally support for the Sokoto State Governor, saying he will unite Nigerians.

He said he is the leader that can do it all if given the opportunity to be president in 2019

The governor said this yesterday at the Lagos State secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during his campaign tour to the state in continuation of consultation with delegates and party supporters ahead of the national convention of the party scheduled for Port Harcourt in Rivers state.

Tambuwal told the delegates to support him, saying that he has all it takes to put things right, and tackle the issues of polarisation, because he can be trusted by Nigerians, and someone who understood the complexities of the country.

He said he is a true Nigerian, that had made friends across the country, noting that during his tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives, he and his other colleagues knew how to handle national issues with common interest.

“We shall take the issue of restructuring head on. Project Nigeria is an on-going process that must succeed. You can’t give what you don’t have; if you don’t understand the basic element of governance, you cannot govern,” he said.

The former speaker noted that he would make all Nigerians have a sense of belonging, operate a transparent government, and run the government on the principles of democracy, adding that he would attend to the issue of restructuring, bring all Nigerians together to discuss the future.

Alluding to the actions of President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, he pointed out that he would not invade the National Assembly neither would he disrespect for the rule of law.

He therefore said that he is prepared for the job, adding that Nigeria could not be static when the world is dynamic, promising to be a brother, a friend and a confidant to all Nigerians and would in that spirit rescue, restructure and reposition the country for the good of all.

Meanwhile, a former gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of APC in Edo State and now a chieftain of PDP, Mr. Kenneth Imansuangbon, has called on well-meaning Nigerians to rally support for the Sokoto State governor, saying he would unite Nigerians.

Imansuangbon stated this yesterday while touring Edo State and wooing delegates in support of Tambuwal. The call, he said, became imperative because of Tambuwal’s past antecedents as a visionary leader, game changer and a detribalised Nigerian.

Speaking further, he said his leadership quality was manifested and shone brilliantly while he served as Speaker of the House of Representatives where he brought stability and respect for the rule of law.

“Tambuwal is experienced. I believe in him and his candidacy. I have confidence in him because I believe he will fix the Nigerian economy, create jobs for the youths, stabilise the country, tackle security genuinely and restore masses confidence in democracy,” Imansuangbon said.
