Folorunsho Folarin-Coker’s Secret Move
Undoubtedly, the Director- General, Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, NTDC, Folorunsho Folarin- Coker, comes across as a respectable man who is loved for his uncommon sagacity and welcoming nature. Without a doubt, he feels more comfortable playing politics in Lagos. However, he was forced to take a ‘ temporary exit’ from the Lagos political environment after he lost his position as commissioner. But since Governor Akinwumi Ambode lost out in the race to seek re- election for governor in 2019 under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Coker is said to be staging a comeback into the Lagos politics, where his influence remains at the top, despite his problem with the governor last year. While he headed the Ministry of Tourism in Lagos, his opinions were well respected. His invaluable contributions to the success of One Lagos Fiesta further confirmed his brilliance. Apart from this, Coker is also said to have brokered several deals among top businessmen and the state government in the past, a situation that attests to his relevance in the corridors of power not only in the state, but also across the South Western States of Nigeria. For His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi Kusenla (III), Wednesday, October 22, 2018 will go down as most memorable, as dignitaries from all walks of life celebrated with him on his appointment as a member of the Nigeria Olympic Committee at an investiture ceremony.
In his remarks, Oba Elegushi, who couldn’t hide his joy, promised to use his membership of the Committee to work assiduously with other members in order to take the Committee to the next level.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Habu Gumel, who led other dignitaries to the well- attended event, held at the palace of the Elegushi of Ikateland, promised Nigerians a better representation at the next global sporting fiesta, adding that the Committee would do its best to live beyond expectations.
In attendance at the event anchored by popular comedian, Tunde Adewale, aka Tee- A, were a former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan; the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Hakeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo; Oluwo of Iwo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adul-Rasheed Akanbi Telu 1 and human rights activist, Favour Benson.
