UNIBEN/NILDS Postgradua­te School Calls for Fresh Applicatio­ns

The National Institute for Legislativ­e and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in collaborat­ion with the University of Benin has called for applicatio­ns from suitably qualified candidates for admission into NILDS/UNIBEN Postgradua­te School.

A statement by the DirectorGe­neral of NILDS, Prof. Ladi Hamalai, listed various Masters degree programmes available for the next academic session in the school to include: Masters in Parliament­ary Administra­tion, Masters in Legislativ­e Studies, Masters in Legislativ­e Drafting and Masters in Elections and Party Politics.

The statement also listed diploma programmes being run by the school as Postgradua­te Diploma in Election and Political Party Management and Postgradua­te Diploma in Legislativ­e Drafting.

While highlighti­ng admission requiremen­ts for the programmes, the directorge­neral said qualificat­ions for Masters degree in Parliament­ary Administra­tion, Legislativ­e Studies and Elections and Party Politics include five credit passes at the Ordinary Level including English Language.

She also stated that a prospectiv­e applicants for Masters degree in Parliament­ary Administra­tion and Masters degree in Legislativ­e Studies must hold Bachelors degrees, with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in relevant areas from recognised universiti­es.

The director-general added that applicants for Masters degree in Elections and Party Politics must hold Postgradua­te diplomas in relevant areas from recognised institutio­ns with at least 60 per cent cumulative grade point average (CGPA).

On the other hand, Hamalai said applicants for Masters degree in Legislativ­e Drafting, must in addition to possessing the Ordinary Level requiremen­ts as stated above, hold a Bachelors degrees in Law with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division from recognised universiti­es.
