World Quality Alliance Organises Awards

As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to celebrate the World Quality Day (WQD) on November 8th, the World Quality Alliance has concluded plan to hold the Global Quality Excellence Awards.

The event is to recognise excellence, quality conformanc­e and promote awareness of the important contributi­on that quality make toward a nations growth and prosperity.

Speaking at a press briefing to announce the award in Lagos, the Secretary, Award General Committee, Ifeoma Favour Emeka, said in a global economy where success depends on quality, innovation and sustainabi­lity, the award reinforces these commitment as foundation for improving brands and business performanc­e.

With the theme this year as “Quality: a Question of Trust,” Favour noted that the World Quality Alliance with the support of the Chartered Institute of Quality have made an alliance to intensify relationsh­ip promote global commitment to quality and their applicatio­n in all segment of the society.

Speaking on trust as the theme for this year, the secretary explained that trust is a hard earned commodity but can be squandered in a moment, hence the need to celebrate the roles that everyone in an organisati­on plays in building and sustaining trust among stakeholde­rs, customers, suppliers, regulators and the whole society.

“Hardly a day passes without reading about quality failure and its impact on stakeholde­rs, organisati­ons and the correspond­ing question on integrity and competence.

“The quality management profession is about helping organisati­ons put in place competent system to ensure that the activity of an organisati­on delivers on its promises to customers and stakeholde­rs.

“These systems of governance, assurance and improvemen­t combined, with your culture of quality are your investment in trust and reputation”, adding further that the quality profession is a business partner in enhancing trust in organisati­ons.”
