Audit Firm Calls for Friendly Tax Policy
A tax auditing company, Pedabo, has urged governments at all levels to design friendly ways to create confidence among tax payers.
The Managing Partner, Pedabo. Mr. Ajibada Fashina, said this while speaking at a media briefing to mark the organisation’s 20th anniversary.
Fashina said: “No country succeed by increasing tax rent or tax space without scrutinising its tax policy and encouraging greater parts of its citizens to pay tax.”
He also noted that the company as an indigenous firm with an international outlook, has a global association of leading professional service firms operating in 86 countries.
“As a member of Ksi who are dedicated to meeting the tax, accounting and business consulting needs of client in the nation where they operate, Pedabo has evolved over the years to become one of the market leaders.
“As a professional firm which started in 1998 as a professional firm engaged in audit, tax and advisory service, with staff strength of five, but today we are about 100.
“This has metamorphosed into growth in client, public acceptability and popularity in competing with the top four in the country.
“This is because we equipped ourselves regularly by conducting in house and external training to meet the needs of our client.”
On his part, the Managing Consultant, Albert Folorunsho, expressed optimising that the challenges encountered during the past 20 years, motivated the company to surmount all obstacles to gain acceptability and to be able to compete among the best.
“We have to some extent taken away tax, accounting and pay roll from our client, which we now handle on their behalf and this have added to us been acceptable in the industry.”
Commenting on the effect of emerging technology and its disruptive tendencies, the managing partner said the firm was capable of handling all the issues that may arise.
