Marriage manifests the fruit of happiness only if there is an element of friendship between the parties involved. For this eight year-old couple, one couldn’t have found the feature of friendship lagging between the duo who have remained models to a number of married and aspiring couples. While both admit that marriage in actual sense is not a bed of roses, they have been able to surmount its associated storm by playing all well, with all sense of maturity.

Both came in contact with each other in 2003 at the University of Lagos. On how they met, Basketmouth once revealed “I was promoting a show back then I think in 2003 or 4 and I was right in front of her hostel in Unilag. She walked past and she was like hey Basketmouth, then my fame had just started growing. And she hailed me and walked past. Then I turned and saw her, she was beautiful, and she is still beautiful. For the first time in my life, I walked after a woman. I asked her for her name and number. The rest is history.” He did not also deny the fact that he fought persistently to win her.

In 2010, the relationship was unionised and legalised in a high class and star-studded wedding ceremony that was graced by dignitaries from all walks of life. Today, the duo boasts of two kids as the product of the union.

Apparently one of the celebrated marriages in the Nigerian social circle, theirs till today remains a shock to a lot of people who believe marriages of celebrity do not always stand the test of time, most especially in this clime. Surprisingly, the romance between the comedy king and his creative arts graduate partner has not ceased to glow and full of life, with no iota of scandal.

On what sustains and strengthens the marriage, the humour merchant once revealed how he turned himself to an house help in his house: “Marriage is not that simple but I always try to make it work by playing my part. Due to the nature of my job, I am not always around. Sometimes, I could be away for weeks but when I am back home, I try to make it up to my family especially my wife. I go to events with her, take her shopping and make her feel special. When I am home, I am the houseboy, I do all the work, clean up the kids and spend time with them, I sweep, I cook, I wash. I do basically all the house chores.”

Away from his success story at home, the multi gifted artiste has been up and doing in his rib cracking business which has earned him excellent ratings locally and globally. Just of recent, the Globacom brand ambassador won the South African Pan-Africa Comic of the Year Award, for the second time in a row.
