FLORENCE OKONKWO SHINES AT MAFAA
Magic Lens Africa Film Academy Awards (MAFAA) honoured United Kingdombased movie producer and actress, Florence Okonkwo, popularly known as the queen of red carpet and others at this year’s edition of the prestigious award ceremony held in Abuja, recently.
The CEO of MAFAA, Charles Awurum explained that “Florence Okonkwo is one of the few Africans in the United Kingdom making sure that the movie industry in Africa survives and grows to meet up with the standard of the western world. Consequently, Magic Lens Africa Film Academy Awards (MAFAA) honoured her, among other celebrities in Africa, for supporting Nollywood.”
Speaking on her award, Okonkwo said: “I am elated for all the grace God has bestowed on me for adding more feathers to my cap at MAFAA.
I appreciate all my fans, family and friends for supporting and recognising my hard work and commitment in the movie industry. My warm gratitude to the organisers of this awards, especially MAFAA for appreciating my efforts in repositioning Nollywood to the world, as well as encouraging movie production in Africa.”
Celebrities present at the show included Kanayo O Kanayo, Vitalis Ndubuisi, Florence Okonkwo, Kate Osamor, John Okafor, Francis Duru, Stan K Amadi, Linc Edochie, Agility Onwurah, AGN President, Emeka Rollas, Nazareth Jesse, among others.
