STARDOM REALITY SHOW FOR BUDDING VOCALISTS, SONGWRITERS
Musical maestros, Cobhams Asuquo, Ego, and Rotimi Keys are in on a unique reality show called Stardom Nigeria that is set to produce talented vocalists, songwriters, and producers who will smile home with $30,000 each.
The winners will also produce a hit single with top-selling music artiste, said the Executive Producer, Stardom Nigeria, Jennifer Okeakwa, at a press conference attended by the three judges, Cobhams Asuquo, Ego, and Rotimi Keys, at Westown Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, recently.
According to Jennifer, “Stardom Nigeria reality TV show is a platform that primarily seeks to unearth unpolished gems with the potential to contribute a new sound and fresh take from the usual musicianship, business and showmanship that music is all about.”
The executive director, who was flanked by the Producer, Mr. Ware Zupkumor, and two other collaborators, Charles Osagie and Damola Adewole, said, “The show is more focused on finding people that are musicians at heart but are looking for a platform that not only wants to propel them but also accepts their diversity in style and sound.”
She added that this ranged from folk music like Apala to classically trained singers, self-taught producers and naturally endowed lyrists.
Specifically, “the platform brings together music enthusiasts from three categories – Vocalists, Songwriters and Producers.”
She said auditioning would take place this month in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Benin City, Jos, Calabar and Kaduna.
