How Forte Oil boss dispelled rumours of gubernatorial ambition
As the genius’ words flow like honey onto the page with a nod of approval from a linguistic sage, so did Babajide SanwoOlu’s governorship bid earn the support of billionaire mogul, Femi Otedola.
Otedola recently threw his weight behind Sanwo-Olu’s gubernatorial dream thus improving the latter’s socio-economic and political capital; pundits are of the opinion that, as the moon sings the languid flower, to bloom at midnight hour, so will the billionaire’s weight serve as remarkable fillip to politician/civil servant’s governorship campaign.
Otedola, who is the Chairman of Forte Oil PLC, recently endorsed the Lagos State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Sanwo-Olu’s governorship bid few weeks after he was rumoured to be vying for the same position on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a report which he neither denied nor confirmed.
Media entrepreneur, Dele Momodu had said in September that Otedola had personally confirmed to him that he would be contesting the governorship seat. However, in a post on his official Instagram handle on Saturday, Otedola described Sanwo-Olu as his childhood friend and the incoming governor of Lagos State. A caption which was placed beneath a photo he took with SanwoOlu read in part, “Dinner at my residence yesterday evening with my childhood friend, APC governorship candidate, Jide SanwoOlu; the governor in waiting.”
