Love Actually…How Toyin Olusanya Ended Up As Bola Koko’s Second Wife

-

After treading a path laden with scorn, sleepless, tear-filled nights and harrowing days, Toyin Olusanya eventually arrived her fairy-tale promised land with the legitimisation of her union with Bola Onadele, the dashing Managing Director of FMDQ OTC PLC, a foremost financial services company. Notwithstanding her position as wife number two, she proudly parades herself as Mrs Oluwatoyin Olusanya-Onadele to underscore the legitimisation of her whirlwind relationship with Onadele, popularly known as Koko in corporate Nigeria. Pray, who wouldn’t?

In her late 40s, Toyin is the younger sister of Boye Olusanya, former chief executive officer of 9mobile and now Managing Director of Alheri Mobile Services Limited, a subsidiary of the Dangote Group. She was equally a force in the banking industry, rising from the lower rungs of Union Bank Plc to become Head, Investment and Private Banking. She had previously served as Head, Treasury and Investment Banking at Broad Bank Nigeria Plc between 2002 and 2006. The Economics graduate of the University of Lagos who also holds an MBA from Cardiff Business School, University of Wales, left banking in 2009 to embark on an entrepreneurial journey that saw her set up Aeida, an Events and Health Consulting firm. The company has managed several corporate and individual events and is actively involved (using the Cambridge Weight Loss Program) with assisting people attain a healthier lifestyle. Despite all her achievements and comfort, Toyin however was unlucky with men until she met the financial services whizz, Koko.

As with such a successful man, Bola, expectedly, was married but it was not enough to deter Toyin from falling helplessly in love with him and letting go all inhibitions. Before long, she became pregnant and the original Mrs Onadele got wind of it and all hell broke loose. She pressured and pacified Toyin to abort the pregnancy without any result. Koko raved and ranted as his marriage tottered on the brink of collapse. But reason eventually prevailed as Toyin put to bed a baby girl that shares a striking resemblance with the father. It took Mrs. Onadele a very long time and a great deal of maturity and equanimity to accept the bitter truth that her husband, whom she thought was the quintessential poster child for an ideal husband, had not just brazenly cheated on her, he also sired a love child in the process. Indeed, time heals all wounds and it is healing Koko’s first wife’s too. Toyin and Bola are officially now married, making her wife number two. And proudly so too!
