Ifeoma Okonji’ Passion
Ifeoma Okonji, by all standards, is one of the few youths in Nigeria who are impacting their society and their generation .
Those who have come in contact with the delectable smooth talker attest to the fact that she is one person who truly believes in the core values of humanity.
A vibrant youth and women advocate par excellence, she has always shown her sterling leadership qualities since her tender age, a fact that led to her election as the pioneer Student Union Vice President of Anambra State University.
The Graduate of English from the Anambra State University has never ceased to show her enthusiasm for the downtrodden in the society.
Three years ago, she launched her pet project tagged ‘WELTI’ (Women Economic and Leadership Transformation Initiative), a nonprofit organisation with the sole aim of empowering young women between the ages of 14 and 30, to inculcate in them the pillars of leadership technology, education and health.
The former employee of Celtel used WELTI as a bait to empower young women to become healthy and competent leaders, who will leverage on technology for sustainable economic development.
Her vision is to keep empowering young women to be CORE (Competent, Organizationally skilled, Responsible and Ethical).
A close source said that Under Ifoma’s watch, WELTI has implemented several programmes and impacted 3,070 young women in four states of the country with the intention of reaching 7000 young women by 2020 and expanding to other states of the federation.
It was further gatherered that she partnered with Microsoft and AlwaysNG to implement BMT , reaching out to over 150 young female business owners in Lagos and Abuja.
This year, she has supervised the empowerment of 300 young female businesses in Lagos, Jos, and Kaduna.
