Honour For Bola Tinubu

-

When a woman marries a loving and successful husband, she can go touch the moon and come back, so says an adage.

The Group Chief Executive of Oando, Wale Tinubu, has been a good and encouraging husband to his wife.

Little wonder , his beautiful wife, Bola, has continued to record success in everything she ventures into.

The Founder of Cece Yara Foundation, who has been involved in the struggle for the prevention of sexual abuse of minors in our society , was named among the BBC 100 Women 2018 last week.

Barely two years after the launch of the Foundation, it is fast becoming one of the most recognised in the continent of Africa; hence, the recognition by the BBC.

It was also disclosed that she has been earlier recognised by the popular search engine, Google, who recently donated the sum of $150,000 for her effort.

Ceece Yara is a child-centred non-profit organisation established in 2016 to prevent child sexual abuse and to provide access to care, information, protection and emergency intervention for children who have been sexually abused.

Over the last 30 years, Tinubu has been deeply struck by the general tacit acceptance of the incidence of child sexual abuse in Nigeria brought about by cultural, religious and socio-economic circumstances, and the lack of recourse and support for child victims.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economic and Social Studies from the University of Manchester, U.K., and a Law degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. She was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1993.
