IS OBAFEMI HAMZA AMERICAN?

- MUDI TAKES ACCRA

Mbok it is just a question o. The last time I wrote something about this campaign, I was threatened with castration. It was not easy that night and I swore never to write or comment on this campaign until they record their landslide ‘victory’ and we will all go and rest. But you know me na as I no dey hear word, I have come again. I am seeing a report that oga is American and might have pledged allegiance to the United States of America in securing this citizenship. For me, it is a good thing because I am sure as an American if this is true, he can now come and teach us the true tenets of democracy. The sanctity of one man one vote, the importance of freedom of choice instead of the nose leading democracy we are seeing today especially in Lagos. Furthermore, he will better understand political economy and how to use it for the betterment of the people irrespective of vested interest which is looking like the bridge that is throwing him up. As a failed American (they have revoked my visa - I am just looking at them) to a real American, I challenge him to lead a revolution that would finally free Lagos from the stranglehold of vested interest, use your position when you get there to fight for the enthronement of true democracy and the superiority of people’s power. Basically, I am asking you to turn around to bite the hand that may have fed you and if you are truly an American you will stand on the side of democracy and prove your true worth. Do it and stand on the right side of history. What kuku concern me, if you like you do it, if you like don’t do it. You kuku ma know what happens when you ride the back of a tiger. This is a very vicious tiger you are riding. Meanwhile, my friend I won’t mention his name – last time I mentioned a friend’s name, I almost got my head broken; has promised to get me to sit with you. He says you are exceptionally brilliant and that I should listen to you. I have heard and I am sure you must truly be brilliant as an American, I look forward to the meeting but the most important thing is what I have just said to you, no be meeting. Leave meeting. Come watch Oba Eshugbayi.

Mbok let me digress a bit. Last week my friend and brother MUDI opened a new outlet and he carried the Duke of Shomolu with some other friends to the city. My brother, when Dele Momodu posted a picture of the new international airport in Accra on his Instagram page, I marveled but not up to what I saw when I landed. My people, this no be African country again o, it is now a first-world country. Nobody disturb you, everything is automated, the level of efficiency can be imagined. I no talk anything o, I no compare o, I am just saying what I saw o. Nigerians were taking selfie like they were in Switzerland. I just quiet waka go the shop. The drive into town was pleasant, beautiful roads, sane people and the apartment we stayed was something else. Well, we had fun. The Nigerian High Commissioner came to open the shop and spoke very eloquently about the brand Mudi and how it was revolutionizing Fashion across the continent. The senior pastor at COZA also was there showing the tremendous respect he has for Mudi despite the very short notice. He flew in with his team from Abuja for the Event. Mbok, the man fine. Come and see what he wore and the way he spoke like butter cannot melt in his mouth. You could scoop the charisma and sell, I tell you. Me I am going to join his church. Ghanaian elites flocked the opening led by the very influential KKD wearing his perfect MUDI piece. The evening ended with a sumptuous dinner thrown by the matronly matriarch of Ghanaian High society, Joyce Wasama in her palatial enclave nestled within the highbrow Cantonment of Accra where I hear Jerry Rawlings lives. They even had afang on the menu cos according to them The Duke was coming. Well done Mudi. God bless your work.
