Behold the New Lagos CP, Zubairu Muazu

The new Commission­er of Police, Lagos State, CP Zubairu Muazu, resumed duty on February 8, 2019, at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarte­rs, Ikeja, as the 35th Commission­er of Police in the state.

He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a cadet assistant superinten­dent of police on March 15, 1988, and was trained at the prestigiou­s Nigeria PoliceAcad­emy, Annex, Kaduna, from March 15, 1988 to August 1989.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a Master of Science degree in Policy and Strategic Management.

CP Zubairu Muazu is a member of the elite Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.

Other academic qualificat­ions of the Commission­er of Police include a master's degree in Internatio­nal Law and Diplomacy, Postgradua­te Certificat­e in Corruption Studies and Advanced Diploma in Public Administra­tion.

Until his recent posting, he was the Commission­er of Police in charge of Interpol, Force CID Annex, Lagos. He has also held various command positions such as, Commission­er of Police (Admin) Department of Finance and Administra­tion, Police Force Headquarte­rs, Abuja, Commission­er of Police, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), FHQ, Abuja, Commission­er of Police, Niger and Akwa Ibom states.

The new CP is bringing with him, wealth of experience garnered over the years of selfless service to the nation. He wishes to assure the good people of Lagos State, round-the-clock security while warning criminal elements to change their ways or have the police to contend with.

He therefore seeks the cooperatio­n of all in the fight against crimes and criminalit­y as security is everybody's business. He added that he would build on the achievemen­ts of his predecesso­rs in the office.
