Verdant Zeal Founder, Tunji Olugbodi’s Giant Strides
His sizzling romance with marketing communications dates back to late 80s when he worked with Promoserve Limited.
He had glided from the Guardian Newspapers in 1989 to Promoserve, where he later resigned as a business development manager.
A restless soul, he had planned to join the defunct Oceanic Bank Plc. But fate pulled him back and led him in hand to Prima Garnet, a successful marketing communication company.
A few years after, he exited Prima Garnet to float his company, Verdant Zeal, in 2007. In the eyes of many, he was leaving certainty for uncertainty.
But today, Tunji Olugbodi, who is GMD and CEO, has no regrets taking that tough decision, as his outfit has been a good addition to the growing marketing communication companies in Nigeria.
Though there were challenges in the beginning, he was resolute in his decision to make Verdant Zeal thrive.
Interestingly, for the wellbuilt Olugbodi, the turning point came when he walked into a bank in the United Kingdom and came out with a 20 million pounds facility.
A powerful dresser, Olugbodi is driven by the zeal to move ahead of his competitors; and he has broken new grounds in the industry. He has been involved in landmark campaigns that have re-sharpened the industry.
A fellow of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON),Olugbodi, who once chaired the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) AGM Committee, is on the faculty of some financial Institutions in Nigeria.
