Funke Fowler Laughs Last… As Husband Throws Her Surprise Birthday Soirees
Ask most women and they’d tell you that they like their birthdays served hot with a touch of surprise, lots of love and laughter, and the taste of happier things to come. Ask Funke Fowler if her birthday celebrated few days back met those requirements and you’d be regaled with a resounding tale of stunned silence, followed by overwhelming happiness as a day she never saw coming happily unfolded, feeding her with warmth so deep she could bask in it forever.
That Funke Fowler, the daughter of debonair chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, has remarried is no longer news. She and her hubby Aigbovbiose AigImoukhuede, younger brother of Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, former Managing Director of Access Bank Plc, had a wedding for the ages last April that featured a galaxy of eminent personalities who converged on the Oriental Hotel, Ikoyi Lagos venue of the white wedding which was strictly by invitation.
Time will tell whether Funke’s second marriage will prove more blissful than the first to Abiodun Kuku, son of the late business tycoon and Ogbeni Ojà of Lagos Bayo Kuku. Despite the promise that trailed the union and the extravagance of the wedding itself, it crashed like a pack of cards. That was in 2013, barely two years after the nuptials. As Funke has moved on, so has Biodun.
If the initial signs are to be used as a barometer of the future, then Funke and Aigbovbiose are set for an extended honeymoon by the rosy beaches of life. Last Sunday, the dude who is very much in love with Funke organized a surprise birthday bash for her in her Lagos home. The low-key soiree was well attended by close family and friends.
