Heaping Praise on Faleke at 60
For Hon. James Adekeye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, this is definitely a time to rejoice.
This is not because his candidate and friend, Governor Yahaya Bello, won his reelection bid in Kogi State.
But the main reason is that the Kogi State-born politician, last Tuesday, celebrated his 60th birthday.
The sortie, it was gathered, was celebrated among relatives, friends as well as close political associates who eulogized him on the occasion.
In particular, a former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, eulogized Faleke for what he described as his contributions to the development of the state.
In a statement by the APC chieftain, signed by his Media Adviser, Tunde Rahman, Tinubu described Faleke as a natural leader with passion, determination to excel and make a difference in people’s lives.
Tinubu noted that Faleke’s political influence radiated through Lagos and Kogi, adding that at three scores, Faleke has done well and etched his name in gold.
The APC leader said that as a pioneer and two-term chairman of the Ojodu Local Council Development Area, Faleke contributed his quota towards the development of Lagos and beyond through the provision of infrastructure and other amenities.
“He also proved pivotal to his party’s victory in the last election. My prayer is that God grant you many more years, good health and renewed energy to continue to contribute to national development,” Tinubu said.
Faleke, who was a deputy governorship candidate to Prince Abubakar Audu in the 2015 election, was also the chairman, House Committee on Anti-Corruption 2011-2015 and chairman, House Committee on Customs and Excise 2015-2019.
Faleke is presently a thirdterm member of the House of Representatives and the chairman, Committee on Finance.
