Police Arrest Teenager who Leads Deadly Robbery Gang in Delta

A 17-year-old girl, said to be the head of a "deadly robbery gang" operating in Warri has been arrested by police in Delta State.

The girl, identified as Bella Lucky, was arrested in the early hours, along with two of her accomplice­s, by operatives of "Safe Delta" unit.

"Safe Delta" unit headed by Aniete Eyoh, a Chief Superinten­dent of Police (CSP), is a special police team newly created and fashioned along the Inspector General of Police IRT, to crack violent crimes in Delta State.

THISDAY gathered that operatives of the unit, reacting to intelligen­ce, arrested the female robbery suspect and two of her members at Maicaver market area in Warri, Warri South Local Government area of the state.

It was learnt that dangerous weapons, including AK 47 rifles, and mobile phones were recovered during the police raid on their hideout.

Security sources said the female always engaged her victims into amorous discussion­s after which she lures them into the hands of her gang.

It was learnt that the notorious female suspect was tracked down by the police after she allegedly stabbed and inflicted bodily injuries on an a yet-to-be identified woman.

Delta State Commission­er of Police,

Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa confirmed the arrest of the suspects.

"These were armed robbers who were using a woman. It's not a question of notorious armed robbers. Three of them were arrested. One out of them is a very young girl.

"Her duty was to sort of deceive passengers, engage them in a discussion before they get carried away and they rob them. They've been arrested and they are in our custody", he said.
