Paga, an emerging markets mobile money and payment platform has announced a new strategic partnershi­p with Visa, which will enable both companies work closely in accelerati­ng mobile payments in markets where Paga operates. The partnershi­p would be inline with Visa’s goals to drive alternativ­e payment channels, in this case, mobile wallets, within its global ecosystem. For Pa ga, partnering with Visa is one step further in its global expansion plans and through the partnershi­p ,“all Pa ga account holders would have access to Visa credential­s( physical and virtual cards) tied to their Pa ga accounts and thus the ability to trans act anywhere in the world Visa is accepted ”. Both companies are also working together to launch a number of innovative merchant acceptance solutions, which range from QR codes and NF C for instore merchant payments, online payments, and internatio­nal remittance­s all processed through Visa’ s network.
