Viju Industries Gets LGDI’s Award for Humanitarian Support
The culture of corporate social responsibility of Viju Industries Nigeria Limited, makers of Viju milk brands again recently came to a limelight.
This happened when the LUCIANO Global Development Initiative (LGDI), a non-profit making organisation committed to welfare of the less privileged children, widows and girl-child development in the country, visited the company to honour it for always rendering financial support to humanitarian bodies in achieving its objectives.
The Lagos-based nongovernmental organisation showed appreciation for Viju Industries’ disposition towards lending its support for orphanage projects and children from indigent homes in order to uplift their living standards.
Since the inception of the LGDI in 2017, Viju Industries has always demonstrated commitment towards supporting noble projects of the orgainsation.
At a low-key ceremony held at Viju Industries head office in Ikeja, Lagos, recently, members of the Board of Directors of LGDI, led by its Chairman, Mr. Richard Ogumola and the visioner, Mrs. Adekemi Lucy Adetiwu-Olaniyi, were on ground for the award presentation to the benefactor company at the instance of some Viju Industries officials.
Speaking on the purpose of the visit, founder of the LGDI initiative, Mrs AdetuwoOlaniyi, said Viju Industries has demonstrated steady responsibility in assisting her organisation, adding that it was in recognition of the company’s getures towards LGDI that the NGO came to honour the company with a recognition award.
She pointed out that despite financial constraint, the LGDI has remained relentless in meeting its objectives of raising the living standards of underprivileged children in the areas of education, accommodation, health, food and clothing etc.
Commenting on the occasion, the Chairman of LGDI’s Board of Directors, Mr. Richard Ogumola remarked that Viju Industries has a good reputation of supporting NGOs, whenever approached, citing LGDI as a beneficiary. Ogumola encouraged the company to continue to do more in uplifting the living standards of the less privileged in the society.

Raphael Osiomwan, expressed delight that the company’s corporate social values was appreciated by one of its beneficiaries- LGDI initiative.
“We are humbled at your visit to our company. Your thank you visit is unprecedented in the history of our organisation, because no NGO we have helped so far has ever come back to show us appreciation, but LGDI.”
Osiomwan revealed that LGDI initiative ranks first in the Viju Industries priority list of NGOs because the Humanitarian body is focused.
