Coronaviru­s: Unilorin Orders Foreign Students to Proceed for Medical Examinatio­n

The management of the University of Ilorin has directed the returning internatio­nal students of the institutio­n to go for medical examinatio­n with immediate effect in order to prevent the spread of coronaviru­s on campus.

The Director of Centre for Internatio­nal Education (CIE) of the institutio­n, Prof. Felicia

Olasheinde-Williams, disclosed this in Ilorin yesterday in a statement.

The statement said the directive to the foreign students became imperative in view of the outbreak of coronaviru­s and to assist the institutio­n to know their status as they return back to the campus.

She gave the directive in a letter addressed to the internatio­nal students.

Olasheinde-Williams said all returning internatio­nal students must proceed to the university clinic for medical examinatio­n so as to deter the spread of the virus within and outside the campus.

According to her, “Note that this medical test is an important requiremen­t to maintainin­g your studentshi­p with the university.

“As such, you are enjoined to adhere strictly to the directive immediatel­y on your arrival.”

Coronaviru­s disease codenamed COVID-19 is an outbreak of respirator­y disease caused by a novel virus that was first detected in China, and has now been detected in more than 100 locations internatio­nally, including the United States, Italy, Spain, England among others.
