Coronavirus: Unilorin Orders Foreign Students to Proceed for Medical Examination

The management of the University of Ilorin has directed the returning international students of the institution to go for medical examination with immediate effect in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus on campus.

The Director of Centre for International Education (CIE) of the institution, Prof. Felicia

Olasheinde-Williams, disclosed this in Ilorin yesterday in a statement.

The statement said the directive to the foreign students became imperative in view of the outbreak of coronavirus and to assist the institution to know their status as they return back to the campus.

She gave the directive in a letter addressed to the international students.

Olasheinde-Williams said all returning international students must proceed to the university clinic for medical examination so as to deter the spread of the virus within and outside the campus.

According to her, “Note that this medical test is an important requirement to maintaining your studentship with the university.

“As such, you are enjoined to adhere strictly to the directive immediately on your arrival.”

Coronavirus disease codenamed COVID-19 is an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a novel virus that was first detected in China, and has now been detected in more than 100 locations internationally, including the United States, Italy, Spain, England among others.
