Gbajabiamila, Akala, Folarin, Olubadan, Others Defy COVID -19, Gather in Ibadan
A member of House of Representatives representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Musliu Akinremi, defied one of the precautions in the spread of Coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19 by gathering people for the final burial ceremony of his father, Alhaji Abdul-Lateef Akinremi Adisa.
The event held at the Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, UCH, Ibadan, was graced by political office holders and politicians across different political parties.
Those in attendance that defied the precaution include the Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; former governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala; and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji.
Others at the party are the Chief Medical Director, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Prof. Abiodun Otegbayo; the 2019 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo
Adelabu; Senator Teslim Folarin, representing Oyo Central in the Senate; governorship aspirant of APC in Oyo State in 2019, Dr. Olusola Ayandele; and Chairman of APC in the state, Chief Akin Oke.
The 2019 governorship candidate of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in the state, Alhaji Sarafadeen Alli; chieftains of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that include Alhaji Abass Oloko and Wasiu Emiola, were also in attendance.
Though, proper screening against COVID-19 was conducted for every person before entering the hall with digital thermometre and alcohol-based hand sanitiser provided by the organisers, which individuals used to disinfect their hands against Coronavirus.
The popular Fuji music icon, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde, was the artiste for the occasion and he did what he knew how to do best.
The hall was filled to capacity and provision was also made for special canopy outside the hall, where political followers of Akinremi, a business tycoon, were entertained.
