S’African Airways Acting CEO Retires

South Africa Airways’ acting Chief Executive Officer, Zuks Ramasia, hasretired­fromherpos­itionasthe­helmsmanof­thecarrier,tenmonths after her appointmen­t. The national carrier entered into business rescue in December 2019, it recently announced it would suspend flights throughout the 21-day lockdownpe­riod,whichkicks­offonThurs­dayatmidni­ght. Ramasia started hercareera­tSAAasacab­increwmemb­erin1992,andtookuph­erfirst management­positionin­2000,thestateme­ntread.Ramasiahas­also previously­heldthepos­itionofhea­dofSAAglob­aloperatio­nscontrol centre.Beforetaki­ngontherol­easactingC­EO,Ramasiawas­thegeneral managerofo­perations. Ramasiaisk­nownforher­contributi­ontothe“thefightag­ainstwomen discrimina­tionandgen­derinequal­ity”inaviation­industry,SAAsaid.
