Start Now to Plan for Post C OVID -19 Measures, Obi Tells Leaders

Vice Presidenti­al candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party( P DP) in the 2019 elections, Mr. Peter O bi, has advised those in authority and policy makers that, while concentrat­ing on how to ameliorate the immediate suffering of the people, to also look beyond now to plan how to help the people after the COVID-19 pandemic.

O bi spoke through the Chairman of his COVID-19 Palliative Committee, Prof. Chi nye re Stella Okunna,w hole dot her Committeem­embers to Mate rM is eri cord ae Hospital, Afikpo; Visitation Hospital, Umuchu,; Diocesan Hospital, Nnewi and St. Felix Hospital, Nnewi.

The four hospitals received cartons of face masks, drugs, hand san it is er sand hand gloves.

During the presentati­on of this items, Prof. Okunna said it was Mr. Peter O bi’ s way of identifyin­g with the suffering masses at this time of global distress. She said that Obi comm ended the efforts of hospitals and their personnel that were at the forefront of the fight againstthe­COVID-19pandemic..

Conveying the sentiment soft he receiving hospitals, the Manager of Diocesan H os pital,Nnewi, Rev. Canon Emeka Igwilo thanked Mr. Peter Obi for his continued expression of love for humanity.

Noting what he called Obi’s “good and pleasant nature as well as manifest leadership qualities ,” he said that those qualities aided him to succeed as governor of An am bra State and will certainly aid him to succeed in any environmen­t he findshimse­lf.

Other members of Obi’s Palliative Committee are former Commission­er for Informatio­n, An am bra State, Chief Joe-Mart ins Uzo dike; former Commission­er for Housing An am bra State, Dr. Patrick Obi and Special Adviser to Peter Obi, Barr. Valentine Obienyem.
