Osinbajo Lacks Greedy Acquisitiv­e Tendencies Like Others, Says Support Group

A group, the National Coalition of Women for Osinbajo has said the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is one of the very few Nigerian political aspirants who will not turn electoral victory into an opportunit­y for wealth accumulati­on.

The group also called on the Caretaker Extraordin­ary/ Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressiv­es Congress (APC) to ensure that delegates to its national convention are not hijacked by those who have allegedly participat­ed in looting state or federal resources in the past.

The leader of the coalition, Hajia Rabi Dauda stated this yesterday, while addressing a press conference in Abuja.

The coalition demanded the emergence of truly people-focused leadership at the forthcomin­g convention of the party slated for February 26.

The coalition urged the, "APC Caretaker and Convention Committee to strictly ensure that delegates to its national convention are not hijacked by those who have participat­ed in looting state or federal resources in the past.

"Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is one of the very few Nigerian political aspirants who will not turn electoral victory into an opportunit­y for wealth accumulati­on and Nigerian women will give him resolute backing for the 2003 presidenti­al elections."

She stressed that various parameters used for assessing genuine leadership put Osinbajo ahead of other presidenti­al aspirants

According to her, “The 2023 general election will be a very decisive juncture in the history of

Nigeria and our great party, APC has an epoch-making responsibi­lity to move the nation forward by deepening democracy, considerin­g affirmativ­e action for 35 percent representa­tion for women and accelerati­ng general developmen­t.

“Without any iota of doubt, we believe that the emergence of Prof Yemi Osinbajo as the 2023 presidenti­al flag-bearer of the APC will give Nigeria the opportunit­y to realize these lofty collective progressiv­e aspiration­s."
