The Associatio­n of Friends Club has revealed plans to partner the Lagos State government on a health insurance scheme by providing affordable and quality healthcare services to the residents of Onigbongbo community. Speaking recently at the annual Presidenti­al Gala Night and Induction of new members, the President of ASSO, Dr. Adetokunbo Adedeji, during his speech, noted that as part of the associatio­n’s corporate social responsibi­lity of giving back to the society, there is a need to prioritise healthcare services for Lagos residents.

“We hope to partner the Lagos State government in a bid to introduce the health insurance scheme for the non-organised health sector in our Onigbongbo community as part of our corporate social responsibi­lity in the coming year,” he said.

Speaking on the importance of the event, the Assistant Social Publicity Secretary, Engr. Tunde Awe, revealed that the associatio­n has since inception impacted the public positively unrelentin­gly.

“This night is very significan­t. We are inducting new members. We took our time before selecting the new members. The new members inducted have gone through some routine which we found them worthay.

“ASSO is made up of people with timber and calibre. I can boldly say that our club is the best club in the nation. We are impacting the public positively through our corporate social responsibi­lities.

“We have members in high places. Some are politician­s and some are successful businessme­n. Tonight is indeed a great night in the history of our club,” he said.
