Anambra ICT Agency Vows to Foster Accountabi­lity through Technology

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Mr. Chukwuemek­a Fred Agbata, has disclosed that the agency was set to pioneer new possibilit­ies in Anambra State this year, using technology.

Agbata who stated this in a press release he personally signed, which was issued in Awka, Anambra State, yesterday, added that through technology, the agency intends to ensure accountabi­lity and curb corruption.

The State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, had after his swearing-in in 2022, launched the ‘Everything Technology and Technology Everywhere’ initiative.

Soludo, through the State ICT agency headed by Agbata, recently pioneered the introducti­on of e-identity cards for all civil servants in the state to curb impersonat­ion, introduced the automation of budget process through ICT, while also introducin­g technology in the payment of taxes. Agbata said: Technology holds the key to fostering accountabi­lity, driving progress, and ensuring sustainabi­lity across various sectors.

“As the agency mandated to drive the ‘everything technology and technology everywhere’ vision of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, we will pursue a more accountabl­e, progressiv­e, and sustainabl­e future.

“The Anambra State ICT Agency recognises the pivotal role of technology in driving positive change across various sectors. The benefits are simply limitless.

“By embracing technologi­cal advancemen­ts, we can unlock new possibilit­ies, streamline processes, and usher in an era of unpreceden­ted growth.
