Yusuf: There Was Attempt to Steal Kano Mandate on Purported Tinubu, Shettima's Backing

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, Sunday night, said there was an attempt to steal Kano and add it to the kitty of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), because they controlled the federal government and its institutions.
Yusuf, who addressed thousands of his supporters, who converged at Filin Mahaha Arena, to receive him after a road trip from Abuja to Kano, however, raised their hopes.
He promised to revolutionise education, health, human empowerment, and infrastructure development across the state.
Yusuf narrated how some influential persons were hellbent on stealing the hard-earned mandate of people of the state under the guise that they belong to the ruling party.
"The persons were hellbent on snatching or stealing our mandate and the reason was because they felt the president, his deputy, and others were from APC. Fortunately, the president refused to interfere in the matter.
"With this action, Kano people said Thank you Mr. President for saving Democracy in Kano. This is a message from the good people of Kano.
Yusuf, who further commended the Supreme Court for redeeming the image of the judiciary, told his people that, "We will not let you down. Our doors are open. We will deliver on the dividends of democracy in the areas of education, health, and human empowerment, among others.
“We thank the judges for the judgment because if not for the fair judgment they delivered, we wouldn't have known what would have happened. The verdict has redeemed their image.”
He further urged all Kano stakeholders, irrespective of political affiliations, to come on board and join hands with him to develop the state.
The Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, said Yusuf's administration would end thuggery, drug abuse, phone snatching and better the lives of the citizenry.
He, too, thanked the Justices of the Supreme Court for toeing the path of truth and honor by delivering a just and fair judgment that saved the state from "unforeseen circumstances."
