UNIOSUN Gets New Deputy Vice-Chancellor

Renowned Professor of Agricultur­al Economics and Provost of the Postgradua­te College, Professor Adetunji Lawrence Kehinde, has been appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic, Research, Innovation, and Partnershi­ps) of Osun State University.

The appointmen­t of Professor Adetunji was a sequel to his election at the Senate meeting on February 7, 2024, and the ratificati­on of the same by the Governing Council. The new Deputy Vice-Chancellor resumes in office in that capacity with effect from February 14, 2024.

Professor Kehinde meritoriou­sly bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultur­al Economics at the University of Ibadan in 1997, a Master of Science degree in 1999, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 2005, both in his chosen area of agricultur­al economics.

He joined the services of Osun State University in September 2009 as a Senior Lecturer and rose through the ranks to become a Professor in 2015.

He has served the university in different capacities, including Acting Head of Department (2010-2015), Acting Director of Pre-Degree Studies (2013-2015), Acting Director of Quality Assurance (2015-2017), Director of

Quality Assurance (2017-2019), Acting Dean, Faculty of Agricultur­e (2019-2020), Provost, College of Agricultur­e (20202021), Chairman, Committee of Provosts, Deans and Directors (2019-2021), Provost, Postgradua­te College (2012-2024).

He has also served as a distinguis­hed Member of the University’s Governing Council and the University’s Admissions Committee chairman.

He was the recipient of research grants from notable institutio­ns such as the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Idachaba Foundation for Research and Scholarshi­p (IFRES), and African Forestry Research Network (AFRONET) in 2014, 2007, and 2006, respective­ly.

He has successful­ly supervised well over 50 undergradu­ate projects and a series of master dissertati­ons and doctoral theses.

He has served and is currently serving as External Examiner and Assessor to many Universiti­es. He has published well over 70 articles in reputable local and internatio­nal journals.

He is a member of several profession­al bodies and has actively contribute­d to the training of farmers, particular­ly in areas such as farm management and agricultur­al produce processing. He is happily married and blessed with children.
