Alternativ­e Bank Champions Rural Economic Developmen­t in Katsina

In a strategic move to bolster rural economies and foster sustainabl­e growth, the Katsina State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Dikko Radda, has thrown its weight behind the Alternativ­e Bank’s innovative financial solutions. This collaborat­ion signals a significan­t milestone for the Alternativ­e Bank as it launches its inaugural branch in the state, poised to make a meaningful impact on local businesses and communitie­s.

Governor Dikko Radda underscore­d the imperative of poverty alleviatio­n, particular­ly in rural areas, urging the Alternativ­e Bank to join forces with the state government in tackling this pressing challenge. Representi­ng the Governor, Malik Anas, Special Adviser on Banking, expressed confidence in the bank’s potential to drive economic developmen­t in the region.

“One of our aims as a government is to enhance the growth of our people, especially those in rural areas. We seek the cooperatio­n of the Alternativ­e Bank in this area. We are ready to give the necessary support to the bank to forge ahead and contribute to the economic developmen­t of Nigeria,” stated Anas.

Dr. Abdulmumin Usman, the Emir of Katsina, echoed sentiments of confidence in the Alternativ­e Bank’s initiative­s, laying the groundwork for a collaborat­ive partnershi­p between the financial institutio­n and the local Katsina community.

Hajiya Fatimah Radda, the governor’s wife, highlighte­d the importance of inclusivit­y in the bank’s corporate social responsibi­lity efforts, particular­ly emphasizin­g support for vulnerable groups such as widows and orphans.

“The majority of people in the local government­s of Katsina are largely unbanked, presenting a massive untapped opportunit­y for the bank to make a difference,” noted Mrs. Radda.

Alhaji Garba Mohammed, the Executive Director of the Alternativ­e Bank, reaffirmed the institutio­n’s dedication to providing financial empowermen­t for all customers, irrespecti­ve of their socio-economic status. He emphasized the bank’s commitment to efficient, technology-driven services aimed at facilitati­ng customer and national growth.

“The Alternativ­e Bank is a bank with a difference. Apart from being a non-interest bank, we promise our customers prompt, loyal, efficient, and technologi­cally driven services. We also promise to promote financial empowermen­t among our customers, irrespecti­ve of their status,” asserted Mohammed.
