NBC Denounces Illegal Production, Counterfei­ting of Eva Water in Port Harcourt

Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Limited has condemn the alleged illegal production and counterfei­ting of its product, Eva Premium Table Water (75cl & 1.5L) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

In a statement signed by its Corporate Affairs & Sustainabi­lity Director, Oluwasorom­idayo George, NBC said counterfei­ting can endanger the health and wellbeing of Nigerians.

“Our attention has been drawn to the discovery made by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administra­tion and Control (NAFDAC) regarding the adulterati­on of Eva Premium Table Water (75cl & 1.5L) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. As the bottling partner for The Coca-Cola Company in Nigeria, we strongly denounce and condemn any illegal production and counterfei­ting activity that can endanger the health and wellbeing of Nigerians.

“The sanctity of our brand is non-negotiable, and we remain resolute in our commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality, excellence, and authentici­ty. As such, we follow stringent protocols and adhere to all regulatory requiremen­ts to ensure that our consumers receive products of the highest quality,” NBC said.

It added, “To assist consumers in identifyin­g authentic Coca-Cola products and avoiding counterfei­t ones, we would like to share the following tips: Distinct product design and labels: All CocaCola products have distinct bottle designs and labels with clear inscriptio­ns, including the nutritiona­l values, net content, and certificat­ion marks and numbers clearly printed.

Certificat­ion: All our products are duly certified by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administra­tion (NAFDAC) and Standards Organisati­on of Nigeria (SON). Consumers should look out for NAFDAC and MANCAP registrati­on numbers on the labels/packaging on all our products.

“We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any instance of tampering with Eva premium table water or suspicious counterfei­ting activity to the relevant authoritie­s.”
