Governor loses media aide

The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Taraba State Governor, Mr Sylvanus Giwa, slumped yesterday afternoon and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, where he died shortly after arrival.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Hassan Mijinyawa, Ishaku, Governor Ishaku expressed shock over Giwa’s sudden death.

Ishaku described Giwa as a “very hard working gentleman who has contributed immensely to the success of the administration and his death has created a huge vacuum that would not be easily filled.”

Born in Takum Local Government Area of state on November 12, 1963, the media aide worked with the African Independent Television, (AIT) before he took over as the General Manager of the state owned Television station under the Jolly Nyame administration.
