Buhari, Saraki, Dogara, govs attend Dangote’s daughter’s wedding
President Muhammadu Buhari, Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, were among dignitaries who attended the wedding fatiha of Hajiya Fatima, the daughter of businessman Alhaji Aliko Dangote in Kano yesterday.
Hajiya Fatima was handed over in marriage to the son of former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Jamil M. D. Abubakar, at a well-attended wedding that included state governors.
President Buhari, who served as the bride’s guardian, handed over Fatima in marriage to the groom’s guardian, who paid N500, 000 as bride price.
The Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, contracted the marriage inside his palace, while the Chief Imam of Kano, Professor Sani Zahraddeen, led the crowd in supplication to bless the marriage.
Among the governors who attended the wedding were those of Kano-Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Katsina-Aminu Bello Masari, Sokoto-Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Nasarawa- Tanko Almakura and Kaduna-Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i.
Others were the governors of Borno-Kashim Shettima, YobeIbrahim Geidam, Kogi-Yahaya Bello, Ogun-Ibikunle Amosun, Oyo-Abiola Ajimobi and Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State.
Also in attendance were a former National Security Adviser, Alhaji Aliyu Gusau, serving and former senators and members of the House of Representatives, serving and former ministers among others.
