FG re­leases N392m for re-launched school feed­ing pro­gramme

The Fed­eral Gov­ern­ment has re­leased N392m for the re-launched home­grown school feed­ing pro­gramme in Niger State, the Com­mis­sioner for Women Af­fairs and Co­or­di­na­tor of the pro­gram, Bar­ris­ter Amina Musa, has dis­closed.

Speak­ing on the suc­cess of the pro­gramme yes­ter­day in Minna, the com­mis­sioner said the ges­ture was ex­pected to cover for two weeks.

The re-launched pro­gramme com­menced on Mon­day, May 7, 2018 in the state fol­low­ing a re­view of its ac­tiv­i­ties.

The com­mis­sioner said there was sig­nif­i­cant suc­cess in the pro­gramme which tar­geted 560,439,000 pupils across the state. She said the state gov­ern­ment had en­gaged 274 mon­i­tors whose du­ties were to en­sure the suc­cess of the pro­gramme, as she charged stake­hold­ers to be in­volved for op­ti­mal re­sults.

The co­or­di­na­tor also dis­closed that 4,929 food ven­dors were en­gaged for the pro­gramme.
