Alfred vows to shoot down Tornadoes for Kwara United

- David Ngobua

Kwara United’s leading goalscorer, Stephen Alfred has vowed to score against Niger Tornadoes tomorrow in their week 21 fixture at the Bako Kotangora stadium Minna.

Alfred who has scored eight goals so far for relegation threatened Kwara United said it will be a difficult match but he believes that with the help of God he would score to increase his goal tally.

The former FC Taraba player who is second on the NPFL goal scorers chart said every player in Kwara United is motivated going into the match.

It will be recalled that Niger Tornadoes won the first leg of this encounter 2-0 in Ilorin to begin their season with an away win.

Alfred therefore said it is payback time as the “Afonja Warriors” visit their opponents to take back their pound of flesh.

“We are already in Minna for our match against Niger Tornadoes.

“By the grace of God, I am going to score on Sunday. I want to help my club move out of relegation.

“I also want to increase my goal tally. So far, I have scored eight goals to place second behind Junior Lokosa on the goal scorers chart.

“It is not going to be an easy match but we are determined to win this match for our team, esoecially our coach,” he said.

Kwara United technical adviser, Abubakar Bala left Niger Tornadoes before the start of the season under controversial circumstances and was without a club until the ‘Afonja Warriors’ came for him.

It will therefore be an emotional moment for the Niger born coach as he leads his present club against his home team.
