Pantami commissions ICT infrastructures to fast-track digital economy

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami yesterday commissioned three Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructures in Gombe State, in efforts to fast-track digital economy drive.
The projects commissioned include ICT Hubs deployed to the Federal University of Kashere; Gombe State University and IT Community Centre in Dukku town, built by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
Also commissioned was the Nigeria Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) regional office in Gombe, which will serve the Northeast sub-region and the entire country to facilitate the ease of doing business.
He said the projects were aimed at addressing the challenges of unemployment in the country and bridge the gap through digital skills acquisition.
Dr Pantami added that it was in that regard that several interventions were being made to create the enabling environment through digital skills acquisition for youths to become employers of labour.
