The proprietors are insensitive, just as the Nigerian government is also insensitive to the plight of the masses. Unfortunately, our public schools are nothing but a shadow of itself. We were struggling to survive before the pandemic. The pandemic has only heightened our struggles and put us in a very tight corner. Then the government increased the pump price of petrol. A bag of rice in Ibadan as we speak is N37, 000. We cannot afford to buy provisions in bulk as we used to buy before. I told my wife that if we cannot afford the fees for private schools, we may not have any other option than to enroll our children in a public school. Frustration is setting in already.
