PACA ap­proves three weekly Qatar Air­ways flights to So­har

The Pub­lic Author­ity for Civil Avi­a­tion (PACA) an­nounced on Mon­day the ap­proval for Qatar Air­ways to fly three times a week be­tween Doha and So­har from Au­gust 8. “Qatar Air­ways will start three weekly flights be­tween the air­ports in So­har and Doha from Au­gust 8,” PACA stated. The author­ity re­cently also ap­proved a fourth weekly SalamAir flight to So­har and a fourth weekly Air Ara­bia flight to So­har.

Qatar Air­ways will op­er­ate Air­bus A320 air­craft on this route, fea­tur­ing 12 seats in Busi­ness Class and 132 seats in Econ- omy Class. Pas­sen­gers can use any trans­fer time to take ad­van­tage of the many ac­tiv­i­ties and ser­vices avail­able at Ha­mad In­ter­na­tional Air­port, from the free wi-fi, air­side swim­ming pool and play ar­eas for chil­dren, through to the mul­ti­ple quiet ar­eas in which pas­sen­gers can re­lax as well as en­joy an ar­ray of duty free shop­ping and din­ing op­tions.

SalamAir started its fourth flight from July 16. The other three flights op­er­ate on Mon­days, Wed­nes­days and Fri­days. SalamAir will in­crease two flights per week be­tween So­har and Salalah mak­ing it a to­tal of six a week from Thurs­day, July 27.

“We are adding two ad­di­tional flights be­tween So­har and Salalah on Satur­days and Thurs­days start­ing July 27,” SalamAir stated re­cently.

Mo­hammed bin Nasser al Zaabi, CEO of PACA, was re­cently quoted as say­ing that the growth prospects for So­har were en­cour­ag­ing. “In­crease in flights to and from So­har is a good in­di­ca­tor of growth de­mand and in­creased pas­sen­ger traf­fic. We look for­ward to more,” he said.

SalamAir started ser­vice on the Salalah and So­har sec­tor from June 28. The low-cost car­rier be­gan its op­er­a­tions with three flights a week be­tween the two des­ti­na­tions.

Shar­jah-based Air Ara­bia launched its three times a week ser­vice to So­har on July 9.
