MSM30 rises 0.19% on higher volumes
The benchmark index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) rose 0.19 per cent on Monday to close at 5,073.29 points.
Trading activity improved from the previous session as turnover jumped by 30.64 per cent to RO2.84mn and volumes increased 20.06 per cent to 12.75mn shares.
While the Financial and Industrial indices rose by 0.63 per cent and 1.11 per cent, respectively; Services index declined by 0.4 per cent. The MSM Shariah Index marginally increased 0.02 per cent and closed at 756.05 points.
Market breadth remained positive with ten advancing stocks to seven decliners. The rest 18 traded stocks closed flat for the day.
Top gainers were Oman Fisheries (8.18 per cent), Galfar Engineering & Contracting (5.63 per cent), Ahlibank (4.17 per cent) and Al Madina Investment (3.18 per cent). Top losers were National Gas (-2.48 per cent), Oman & Emirates In- vestment Holding (-1.96 per cent), ACWA Power Barka (-1.5 per cent) and Ooredoo (-1.3 per cent).
