MSM30 rises 0.19% on higher vol­umes

The bench­mark in­dex of the Mus­cat Se­cu­ri­ties Mar­ket (MSM) rose 0.19 per cent on Mon­day to close at 5,073.29 points.

Trad­ing ac­tiv­ity im­proved from the pre­vi­ous session as turnover jumped by 30.64 per cent to RO2.84mn and vol­umes in­creased 20.06 per cent to 12.75mn shares.

While the Fi­nan­cial and In­dus­trial in­dices rose by 0.63 per cent and 1.11 per cent, re­spec­tively; Ser­vices in­dex de­clined by 0.4 per cent. The MSM Shariah In­dex marginally in­creased 0.02 per cent and closed at 756.05 points.

Mar­ket breadth re­mained pos­i­tive with ten ad­vanc­ing stocks to seven de­clin­ers. The rest 18 traded stocks closed flat for the day.

Top gain­ers were Oman Fish­eries (8.18 per cent), Gal­far En­gi­neer­ing & Con­tract­ing (5.63 per cent), Ah­libank (4.17 per cent) and Al Mad­ina In­vest­ment (3.18 per cent). Top losers were Na­tional Gas (-2.48 per cent), Oman & Emi­rates In- vest­ment Hold­ing (-1.96 per cent), ACWA Power Barka (-1.5 per cent) and Oore­doo (-1.3 per cent).
