Oman LNG supports Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centres
As part of its unrelenting corporate social responsibility efforts, Oman LNG celebrated the delivery of two buses for Al Wafa Centres for the Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities in Bidiyah and Dima Wa al Taien in North Sharqiyah governorate, extending the reach of its social investment through Oman LNG Development Foundation.
The projects support Oman LNG's ongoing efforts to enhance the services provided by Al Wafa Centres in the sultanate. Such fund will enhance the facilities provided by the centres and ultimately support an important segment of the society as well as promote the volunteerism aspect in the society.
The event was held under the patronage of Salem Juma al Tahiri, assistant director general of Social Development in South and North Sharqiyah, and Rashid Abdullah al Nasri, senior manager of Investment and Support Services in Oman LNG Development Foundation.
Oman LNG has extended support to similar projects in 17 Al Wafa Centers throughout the sultanate. “The completion of the project demonstrates our ongoing commitment towards our society where we are investing in initiatives that will deliver imme- diate, tangible benefits to the lives of people,” said Nasri.
Oman LNG has an ambitious vision and dedication towards corporate social responsibility (CSR) delivered through the Oman LNG Development Foundation.
The foundation addresses many areas of social development in Oman, but in general comprises a Community Fund target- ing initiatives related to the Sur Community where its worldclass, three-train liquefaction plant is located, a National Fund that covers a large swath of the company’s social development programmes across the nation, a Reserve Fund to address the sustainability and continuity of the company’s CSR programmes and finally a Centre of Excellence to develop lasting CSR initiatives through partnering, knowledge sharing, funding and investments.
Oman LNG Development Foundation is a subsidiary of Oman LNG.
Oman LNG operates as a joint venture with a shareholding structure comprising the Government of Oman, Shell Gas B.V, Total SA, Korea LNG, Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsui & Co, Partex (Oman) Corporation and Itochu.
