PACA approves Air Arabia to fly six times a week on the Sharjah-Sohar sector

-

After approving two additional flights to Sohar for SalamAir, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) on Monday gave its assent for two more flights between Sohar and Sharjah to Air Arabia. The approval will give Air Arabia the right to fly six flights a week to Sohar. The airline currently operates four flights a week on Sunday, Monday, Tues- day and Wednesday. “The authority today [Monday] approved Air Arabia to add two weekly flights between Sohar and Sharjah, making it six flights per week,” PACA stated.

The airline is yet to announce the operation of additional flights, apart from its current four weekly service.

The authority had given approval for extra flights to SalamAir in July, after which the airline started flying six times a week between Salalah and Sohar from July 27.

Air Arabia started its Sohar operations on July 9, making Sohar the third destination in Oman after Muscat and Salalah.

The new route complements Air Arabia’s existing flights to Muscat and Salalah, boosts travel and trade opportunities between Oman and the UAE, and provides hassle-free travel options to the residents of Sohar, the airline said in a statement. “Announcing the third destination to Oman is a testament to our strong commitment to facilitate travel between Oman and the UAE,” said Adel al Ali, group chief executive officer of Air Arabia. “We are proud to be one of the first international carriers to operate from Sohar International Airport, and look forward to extending our offerings to passengers flying with us between both cities and across our expansive route network.”
