Rowas be­stowed with Arab Her­itage Man Award

Mus­cat - Ab­du­laziz bin Mo­hammed al Rowas, Ad­vi­sor to His Majesty Sul­tan Qa­boos bin Said on Cul­tural Af­fairs, re­ceived in his of­fice on Mon­day chair­man and mem­bers of the Arab Cen­tre for Tourism In­for­ma­tion (ACTM), and ac­cepted the Arab Her­itage Man Award for 2017.

The award was pre­sented in the pres­ence of a num­ber of pioneers in the Omani and Arab me­dia.

Rowas ac­cepted the award, ex­press­ing his thanks to ACTM for its ef­forts in serv­ing tourism com­mu­ni­ca­tion and high­light­ing Arab her­itage trea­sures in var­i­ous Arab coun­tries.

He pointed out that the hon­our came as a re­sult of the wise lead­er­ship of His Majesty Sul­tan Qa­boos bin Said and the unity of the Omani peo­ple since the Blessed Re­nais­sance.

Dr Sul­tan al Yahyaee, chair­man of ACTM, said that the cen­tre, which is about to mark its tenth an­niver­sary, has or­gan­ised a num­ber of ac­tiv­i­ties and events that have achieved a pres­ti­gious po­si­tion in the Arab coun­tries at var­i­ous lev­els.

He added that the cen­tre, through its 15 branches in var­i­ous Arab coun­tries, has raised aware­ness on the tourism po­ten­tial of Arab coun­tries and their ca­pa­bil­i­ties to ac­ti­vate Arab tourism and pro­vide a pos­i­tive im­age through var­i­ous in­flu­en­tial me­dia out­lets.

The meet­ing dis­cussed means of ac­ti­vat­ing tourism and her­itage me­dia and the de­vel­op­ment of in­ter-Arab tourism, as well as the im­por­tance of role of the me­dia in pro­mot­ing the tourism sec­tor.
