137 projects register for Nama Group’s ‘Wiyakum’ competition
Competition continues among the participating teams in the third edition of 2017 ‘Wiyakum’, organised by Nama Group in light of its continuous interest in enriching volunteer work and empowering Omani youth and channelling their energies towards advancing development in the country.
Emphasising the joint action with government institutions, Nama Group has cooperated this year with the National Youth Committee, in view of the prominent role in supporting Omani youth, stated a press release.
The registration period for Wiyakum competition for youth teams, associations and sports clubs has been completed, which lasted for one month, during which 137 projects were received representing various initiatives.
The preliminary evaluation of the submitted projects will be carried out by an ad hoc committee composed of Nama Group and the National Youth Committee, through which the winners will be qualified to carry out the voluntary projects which will last for two months each according to their region and target group.
On the other hand, believing in the role of staff in voluntary work, Nama Group has in recent years developed staff through training courses and participation in voluntary activities and programmes with a number of civil society organisations.
The group also has granted a full day during which the employee is entitled to benefit from participation in voluntary work and programmes. The group also dedicated a special annual competition for employees as part of the Wiyakum programme to support voluntary projects in various fields, to spread and promote the culture of volunteering among employees.
