137 projects reg­is­ter for Nama Group’s ‘Wiyakum’ com­pe­ti­tion

Com­pe­ti­tion con­tin­ues among the par­tic­i­pat­ing teams in the third edi­tion of 2017 ‘Wiyakum’, or­gan­ised by Nama Group in light of its con­tin­u­ous in­ter­est in en­rich­ing vol­un­teer work and empowering Omani youth and chan­nelling their en­er­gies to­wards ad­vanc­ing de­vel­op­ment in the coun­try.

Em­pha­sis­ing the joint ac­tion with gov­ern­ment in­sti­tu­tions, Nama Group has co­op­er­ated this year with the Na­tional Youth Com­mit­tee, in view of the prom­i­nent role in sup­port­ing Omani youth, stated a press re­lease.

The regis­tra­tion pe­riod for Wiyakum com­pe­ti­tion for youth teams, as­so­ci­a­tions and sports clubs has been com­pleted, which lasted for one month, dur­ing which 137 projects were re­ceived rep­re­sent­ing var­i­ous ini­tia­tives.

The pre­lim­i­nary eval­u­a­tion of the submitted projects will be car­ried out by an ad hoc com­mit­tee com­posed of Nama Group and the Na­tional Youth Com­mit­tee, through which the win­ners will be qual­i­fied to carry out the vol­un­tary projects which will last for two months each ac­cord­ing to their re­gion and tar­get group.

On the other hand, be­liev­ing in the role of staff in vol­un­tary work, Nama Group has in re­cent years de­vel­oped staff through train­ing cour­ses and par­tic­i­pa­tion in vol­un­tary ac­tiv­i­ties and pro­grammes with a num­ber of civil so­ci­ety or­gan­i­sa­tions.

The group also has granted a full day dur­ing which the em­ployee is en­ti­tled to ben­e­fit from par­tic­i­pa­tion in vol­un­tary work and pro­grammes. The group also ded­i­cated a special an­nual com­pe­ti­tion for em­ploy­ees as part of the Wiyakum pro­gramme to sup­port vol­un­tary projects in var­i­ous fields, to spread and pro­mote the cul­ture of vol­un­teer­ing among em­ploy­ees.
