Shell Oman hosts 24 Omani students in its Summer Internship Programme

In line with Shell Oman’s continuous efforts to being a model for successful local talent developmen­t, it has launched its annual summer internship programme this year hosting 24 Omani students from various local and internatio­nal colleges and universiti­es.

The internship programme is part of Shell Oman’s annual corporate social responsibi­lity strategy. It aims to develop the future leadership potential of Omani youth through practical platforms and live projects that help build on their theoretica­l knowledge.

Essam al Busaidi, human resources and administra­tion manager, said, “Omani interns get the opportunit­y to grow their competenci­es, skills and enterprise knowledge through a proven business model that is backed by access to global knowhow and pioneering products and services. Besides the tremendous learning experience, these interns benefit from continuous and extensive knowledge transfer as well as safety culture, communicat­ions, trainings and technology support from their peers in Shell Oman to help them in their pursuit of employment opportunit­ies upon the completion of their studies.”

The interns are placed in different classes of business structures within the company across the sectors of retail, lubricants, marine, bitumen, aviation and commercial fuel.
