NBC’s Mashura initiative highlights In-Country Value
National Business Centre (NBC), which falls under the umbrella of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), organised Mashura initiative that comprises a series of sessions that focus on providing specialised business consultancy to the incubated compa- nies.
Held at Riyada, Mashura session hosted Hamood al Maqbali from the Ministry of Oil and Gas, Mohammed al Ghareebi from PDO, Haitham al Zadjali from BP Oman, and Ibrahim al Maamari from Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Indus- tries Company (Orpic).
Organised in cooperation with the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, the session highlighted In-Country Value (ICV), opportunities and challenges of small enterprises in oil and gas industry, recommendations to increase these opportunities, current and future impact of ICV, and impact of the drop in oil prices and its consequences on the implementation of ICV strategy.
NBC is an initiative launched by PEIE at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat to offer promising Omani entrepreneurs a platform to develop their business ideas and advance them into growing ventures.
The centre offers a premier platform for Omani entrepreneurs by providing business development support and guidance, training and mentor- ing, access to markets and industry experts, and state-ofthe-art and fully equipped office space, meeting rooms and presentation facilities.
Objectives of NBC comprise facilitating and supporting the growth of investable ideas into successful businesses; building entrepreneurial skills through dedicated and focused training, coaching and mentoring; and providing business support facilities from office space, administrative support, financial support and consultancy services that are crucial in ensuring the success of new ventures.
