NBC’s Mashura initiative highlights In-Country Value

National Business Centre (NBC), which falls under the umbrella of the Public Establishm­ent for Industrial Estates (PEIE), organised Mashura initiative that comprises a series of sessions that focus on providing specialise­d business consultanc­y to the incubated compa- nies.

Held at Riyada, Mashura session hosted Hamood al Maqbali from the Ministry of Oil and Gas, Mohammed al Ghareebi from PDO, Haitham al Zadjali from BP Oman, and Ibrahim al Maamari from Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Indus- tries Company (Orpic).

Organised in cooperatio­n with the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprise­s Developmen­t, the session highlighte­d In-Country Value (ICV), opportunit­ies and challenges of small enterprise­s in oil and gas industry, recommenda­tions to increase these opportunit­ies, current and future impact of ICV, and impact of the drop in oil prices and its consequenc­es on the implementa­tion of ICV strategy.

NBC is an initiative launched by PEIE at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat to offer promising Omani entreprene­urs a platform to develop their business ideas and advance them into growing ventures.

The centre offers a premier platform for Omani entreprene­urs by providing business developmen­t support and guidance, training and mentor- ing, access to markets and industry experts, and state-ofthe-art and fully equipped office space, meeting rooms and presentati­on facilities.

Objectives of NBC comprise facilitati­ng and supporting the growth of investable ideas into successful businesses; building entreprene­urial skills through dedicated and focused training, coaching and mentoring; and providing business support facilities from office space, administra­tive support, financial support and consultanc­y services that are crucial in ensuring the success of new ventures.
