Over 3,000 graduate from Sultan Qaboos University

Muscat - Over 3,000 students graduated from the 28th batch at the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) recently.

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah al Hinai, State Advisor.

The 3,227 students who graduated include 1,409 from the colleges of Humanities, 555 students from the college of Arts and Social Sciences with bachelor’s degree, 104 with master’s degree and nine with PhDs.

As many as 369 students graduated from the College of Education with bachelor’s degree, 133 with master’s degree and three with PhDs. Also, 203 students graduated from the College of Law with bachelor’s degree and 33 with master’s degree.

Dr Ali bin Saud al Bemani, vicechance­llor of SQU, said in a speech that the varsity has accomplish­ed many achievemen­ts at various levels, locally and internatio­nally. In terms of academic and institutio­nal accreditat­ion, the university has set up an executive committee to prepare the university report according to the requiremen­ts of the Omani Academic Accreditat­ion Authority in the sultanate (OAAA). The university has collected the necessary data and submitted report to OAAA.

The College of Arts and Social Sciences achieved the institutio­nal accreditat­ion of the Agency for Quality Assurance for six years from July 2016 to September 2022.
