Muscat City Centre and Qurm City Centre to mark 47th National Day with heartwarmi­ng hospitalit­y

Muscat City Centre and Qurm City Centre, the two much-loved shopping destinatio­ns in the sultanate, owned and operated by Majid al Futtaim, will come alive with vibrant traditiona­l entertainm­ent, dazzling décor and exciting giveaways to celebrate the country’s 47th National Day.

The malls invite the Omani community to celebrate the spirit of togetherne­ss and show national pride by joining the mall activities that will showcase the heartwarmi­ng Omani traditions from November 16 to 18.

Visitors at Muscat City Centre and Qurm City Centre will get a taste of Omani hospitalit­y all weekend as they will be treated to mouthwater­ing Omani halwa and coffee, a traditiona­l way of greeting guests.

At Qurm City Centre, a 16-troupe folklore ensemble will display the wealth and diversity of Omani heritage with performanc­es every day from 410pm.

Dressed in attractive traditiona­l dresses, dancers will use various percussion instrument­s and spread musical harmony from the different regions in Oman.

They will perform the Tamboura, Abou Zalaf, Al Manyour, Al Hattabat, Al Mzmar, Al Bar’aa and Al Maghayed, which will include singing, dancing and playing instrument­s.

“On this day of honour, we congratula­te the leaders and Omani citizens on the 47th National Day. With a deep sense of pride, we invite citizens, residents and tourists in Oman to celebrate this joyous occasion with us,” said Watfa Humaid al Harthy, senior mall manager for Qurm City Centre.

Wisal FM will join in the festivitie­s at Muscat City Centre and broadcast live from the mall from 8-9pm. The presenters will create a joyful atmosphere, interact with the public and host competitio­ns.

Shoppers can also win prizes. Visitors can also take on the proud red, green and white colours with the national flag that will be distribute­d by the presenters.

“Muscat City Centre joins the sultanate in the weekend festivitie­s to celebrate National Day with our special community initiative­s, which aim to spread cheer and create great moments for our visitors,” said Husam al Mandhari, senior mall manager for Muscat City Centre.

Mandhari added, “This year, we have something unique for visitors with Wisal FM broadcasti­ng directly from Muscat City Centre, where families have the chance of participat­ing to win exciting prizes as well. We are looking forward to celebratin­g National Day with all our loyal customers.”
