Mercedes-Benz Oman Commercial Vehicles has announced the delivery of two class-leading Actros 3843S Trucks to Special Technical Services (STS) in Muscat. Representatives from Zawawi Trading Company, authorised distributor of Mercedes-Benz in the sultanate, were present to hand over two units of its highest selling trucks in the region. Senior officials from STS took delivery of the vehicles which will further support their ongoing projects in the oil and gas sector.

“STS provides critical services supporting major projects in the oil and gas sector across Oman and it is imperative that they have the best vehicles and technical support in the market. We are delighted that they have selected Actros trucks, the leading heavy duty truck in this region. These vehicles will operate in harsh conditions and will cover long distances in the years to come. That is why, it is vital that they have a high performance truck like the Actros which will continually meet their requirements,” said Rory Allen, general manager, Mercedes-Benz Oman Commercial Vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz Oman’s Commercial Vehicles business offers a full customer-dedicated portfolio of value-added services, including driver training, integrated key account management and first-class after-sales support from its network throughout Oman. Allen highlighted how in the current market, organisations are looking for the best

value and customer service. This is why, Mercedes-Benz Oman consistently offers first-rate support to all of its customers to reduce any vehicle related impact on their operations.

Allen added, “STS will benefit from this integrated approach supporting their Mercedes-Benz fleet. We will ensure that they receive the support they need to keep their operations running as

smoothly as possible with our exceptional after-sales customer service and offering.”

STS, headquartered in the sultanate, is a leading multidisciplinary contracting group

specialising in construction, fabrication and maintenance services for the energy and industrial sectors. First established in 1980, STS now operates across the MENA region and undertakes a

diverse portfolio of projects in several areas of the oil and gas industry.

Abhijit Chakraborty, STS group plant and equipment manager, added, “Meeting the de- manding requirements of our operations is no easy feat. However, we were able to work closely with the Mercedes-Benz Oman team to source two Actros 3843S Trucks.

“These models have a proven robustness and flexibility ensuring that our business requirements are met while also protecting the safety of our drivers. It is critical for us that our trucking partner can provide ongoing support when it comes to service and maintenance and this was the deciding factor in choosing Mercedes-Benz Oman.”

The Actros continues to set standards with more than 760,000 vehicles sold worldwide and is the most frequently sold truck in this region. The powerful V6 and V8 engines make the strong Actros the most reliable option for businesses even under the most demanding of working conditions.
